Importing Metrics to CrossLead

Metrics can help teams hold themselves accountable to their Plans. With the Metrics Importer, it is now easier to bring metrics into CrossLead from other apps or places where that data may be stored. This article will provide a step-by-step process for importing your metrics into CrossLead.

Prepare Your Spreadsheet

The Metrics Importer can import any metrics saved in a .csv file. If possible, we recommend organizing the data in your import file in a consistent format with one date column and corresponding columns for metric values. This will allow the Metrics Importer to easily recognize the metrics in your file and reduce the time to import. Take a look at the example below of ideal data formatting.

Don’t worry if your data isn’t formatted as recommended above. The Metrics Importer is flexible enough to handle any formatting within a file as long as there are dates and corresponding metric values.

Upload Your File

Now you are ready to upload your file into the CLP. You can find the Metrics Importer in the “More” dropdown in the top navigation bar.

Drag and drop your file into the designated area. You can also click to bring up the file directory.

Configure Your Metrics

Once uploaded, the Metrics Importer will recommend whether you should configure your metrics by column or manually. If you organized your spreadsheet as recommended above, you should be able to configure your metrics by column. If not, you will likely have to configure your metrics manually.

Configure by Column

When configuring your metrics by column, the Metrics Importer recognizes whether a column from your spreadsheet contains metric values or dates. For those columns that contain metric values, you can indicate whether the metric is a metric that already exists in the CrossLead Platform or a new metric that will be created once you finish the import.

Click “Next” to move to the final step of the import and confirm the metrics to be imported are correct.

Clicking “Finish Import” will import the metrics to the CrossLead Platform. You will land in the Metrics Center once the import is complete.

Manually Map Your Metrics

For spreadsheets that don’t follow the recommended formatting, you can still important the data by mapping your metrics manually.

First, designate which metrics you will be importing with the manual mapping. These can be both existing metrics and new metrics.

Now you can map each metric you designated in the previous step by working back and forth between the import preview and the visualization of your spreadsheet.

Select the date for your metric observation then select the corresponding metric value from your spreadsheet.

You can also select multiple dates or values by clicking “choose” in the “Date” or “Metric Value” column of the Import Preview and then clicking and dragging to select the desired values in your spreadsheet.

Once you have mapped all observations for the selected metric, click “Next” to move on to mapping the next metric and follow the steps described above.

After you have mapped all of the selected metrics, click “Next” to move on to the final Import Preview.

If everything looks correct in the Import Preview, click “Finish Import” to import the metrics into the CrossLead Platform.
